It's A Girl!

We are excited to announce that Lena is going to have a little sister in June! We had our ultrasound today and were very pleased to find out the baby is a girl. We could not be happier. She is perfectly healthy, measuring in at 11 ounces, which is right on target for her due date. She was being really cute during the ultrasound, nibbling on her fingers and playing with her toes. It was so much fun to watch her. Here are a few pics.

We didn't get many 4-D pics because everytime the ultrasound tech tried to get one, the baby would put her hands in front of her face.

I think this is my favorite pic. Her little feet are so adorable!

We are so thankful to find our baby healthy. We have tentatively scheduled the c-section for June 3rd.

Catching Up

Happy New Year, everyone!

Please forgive me for the long post, but I have a lot to catch up on! I didn't post much in October or November because I was going through the usual first trimester yuckiness. Though it wasn't nearly as bad as my first pregnancy, I still spent a lot of time on the couch trying to stay awake, trying not to get sick, and sometimes both! I started feeling better in December, but then we started experiencing computer problems. This week we bought a new one, so I am back in business!

I didn't take many pics in October or November, but here are a few. And a whole bunch from our Christmas celebrations with family.

Mid-November. Lena trying to lay on Mia. She sure does love the kitties. And they are really good about putting up with her constant barrage of kisses and "hugs".

Thanksgiving. We hosted again this year. My parents, Jim's mom and stepdad, and his sister came up to eat with us. It was my first venture back into the kitchen since I started feeling yucky.

Jim carving the turkey. He loves the electric knife.

Thanksgiving was also Lena's first haircut. Her hair is getting so long and her Aunt Amy is a hair stylist, so she got to do the honors. She cut some bangs for Lena.

Lena did not like the experience one bit!

My little goof. I walked into the living room from the office to find her like this. She loves to pretend to go "night-night." I think it's cute how she picked matching blanket and pillow!

We had our annual holiday open house again this year. Here are the goodies I made for it, including peppermint chocolate fondue. We had about 30 people stop by.

Lena got her first Christmas present of the season at the party. She is wearing a cute little dress Grandma Sheryl got for her. Grandma Sheryl came up for the weekend to help us decorate the house and get ready for the party.

Lena loved the little toy she got.

Playing in the bathtub. Daddy loves to give her crazy hair-dos.

My Christmas table. So pretty.

Lena on Christmas Eve.

Trying to be good and not touch the presents under the tree.

Jim's Christmas present to me: a china cabinet. He got it secondhand, but it is in very good shape. I have definitely been needing a place to put my increasing collection of seasonal dishes and tableware.

It fits perfectly in the dining room.

Lena on Christmas Day.

Waiting for church to start.

Checking out the nativity scene. She loves to point out "baby."

She decided to wear one of the boxes her toy came in.

The Sunday after Christmas we went home to Indiana to celebrate with our families. Here is Lena opening presents at Grandpa Brian's house.

Aunt Amy got her a really fun pair of boots. Lena loved them. She actually cried that night when I took them off of her to put her jammies on.

Grandpa Brian reading the Life Magazine that came out the week he was born. We found some old magazines at a used book sale at the library and got our family members ones from when they were born.

Lena got a bunch of little golden books. She wanted Aunt Amy to read to her.

Lena with Grandpa Lee the next evening.

Aunt Hil helping her unwrap presents.

Helping Daddy unwrap his presents.

She got a little pillow and pillowcases. She immediately went "night-night".

Reading more books.

Grandma Sheryl got a new printer for Christmas.

Uncle Scott wearing the Snuggie he got for Hilary. I don't think he's wearing it right. :)

Lena with Uncle Scott.

Playing with Aunt Amy at Grammy Tammy's house the next evening.

Helping Mama unwrap her present.

We got matching hats and scarves.

Grammy Tammy made Lena a sleeping bag. Guess what she did? Yep, she went "night-night!"

Playing with her future uncle, Frank. Aunt Amy and Frank are getting married in August.

We had a great Christmas!

Now that I am all set up with a new, reliable computer, I should be blogging more frequently now.
