Our New Nephew

I'm an aunt! Noah Robert Martin was born Tuesday, June 22 at 7:38 pm. He weighed 9 lbs. 4 oz. and was 22 inches long. After being induced and going through over 24 hours of labor, Hilary ended up having to have a c-section. But Noah was born healthy and Hilary is recovering well. Here are a few pics of little Noah.

He's a chunky little monkey!

Look at that chubby little face! I think he looks like Hilary.

My first picture with Noah. I got to see him while Hilary was still in recovery from surgery.

Noah and Grandma Sheryl. Noah has a lot of hair like Eva does, but it feels a lot different. I think he's going to have curly hair.

Precious baby.

Cousins!

We are so glad Noah is finally here and are so excited to be his aunt and uncle. We can't wait to watch him grow up!

The past few weeks have been so busy that I hadn't had a chance to blog about all the exciting stuff that has gone on. I made four posts today, so check out my other posts:

Eva's Baptism/Father's Day

Eva was baptized today! What a wonderful thing for Jim, to baptize his baby girl on her first Father's Day! It went really well; here are a few pics.

Pretty baptism cake.

Eva in her baptismal gown made just for her by her Grammy Tammy.

The slip under Eva's baptismal gown. It's hard to see in this picture, but it's embroidered with her name, birth date, baptism date, and even her bapstimal verse, Psalm 22:10.

Our good friends, Dennis and Bobbi Shadle, came up from Fort Wayne for the baptism.

(Grandpa Brian and Theresa were there too, but I didn't get a picture of them.)

Lena at lunch.

Lena and Mommy.

That evening after everyone had gone home, we took a short nap then headed out for an evening stroll. Lena had fun getting some energy out.

She's actually standing still enough for me to get her picture! That is pretty rare these days!

Eva rode in the stroller while Lena rode in the wagon.

She kept turning around to say, "Hi Mama!"

Daddy and his little girls on Father's Day.

We had a great Father's Day!

Visits From the Grandpas

Eva was visited by both of her grandpas this week. On Tuesday Grandpa Lee came up to see her.

Then today, Grandpa Brian came up early for Eva's baptism and we all went out to dinner.

This pic isn't related to the Grandpa visits, but I thought it was too cute not to share. Me with both girls asleep on me. It's really rare that Lena falls asleep outside of her bed, so this is a unique moment!

Eva's First Bath and First Sunday at Church

Here are a few pics of Eva's first bath and her first Sunday at church (June 13). She didn't cry through her first bath like Lena did. And she did really well at church too, not making a peep.

Getting soaped up.

Washing all that pretty hair.

Daddy likes to play with her hair.

Drying off.

Crazy hair!

Eva and Daddy at church.

Showing off her outfit and matching shoes.

While she did great during the service, she was getting pretty hungry by the time I was trying to take pics afterwards. So that's why she doesn't look too happy here!

Baby Eva Has Arrived!

Eva Catherine Roemke was born Thursday, June 3, 2010 at 7:50 am. She weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz. and was 20.5 inches long. The surgery went really well and I had only a minor complication (a postpartum hemorrhage). Eva was perfectly healthy in every way and has a head full of black hair. So different from her big sister! She is absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't be happier about her arrival. We came home from the hospital on Sunday afternoon. Here are a few pics.

Look at all that hair! This is what we were expecting Lena to look like when she was born, but I guess you never know what you're going to get!

First picture with Daddy in the operating room. The anesthesiologist took this picture.

Mommy, Daddy, and Eva later that day.

Eva and Aunt Hilary.

Eva, Aunt Hilary, and Cousin Noah who is due to arrive within the next two weeks.

Eva, Aunt Amy, and Lena. (Scroll to the end to see the cutest video of Lena meeting Eva for the first time.)

Eva and Grammy Tammy.

What a precious little face.

Lena had fun playing in the closet in the hospital room when she came to visit. (Grammy Tammy and Aunt Amy watched her at home while we were in the hospital with Eva.)

Going home.

Big sister Lena was excited to greet her when she came home. We hear "Can I hold her?" several times a day now.

Grandma Sheryl is staying with us for a while. Here she is with "her girls."

Lena rocking the "pajama top and no pants with dressy sandals" look. Yeah, being a big sister hasn't made her any less goofy!

Eva asleep in her bouncer.

Cuddling with Mama.

Lena entertaining her while she gets some tummy time.

Not a big fan of tummy time.

A rare shot of her with her eyes open. Her eyes are so dark that it's hard to tell what color they actually are. I think they will be brown. It's hard to read, but her onesie says, "Made with love."

Eva getting a hug from her big sister.

Lena trying to give Eva her pacifier.

All dressed up and ready to run some errands with Mommy and Daddy.

Gotta love the ruffly bottom!

Here is a video of Lena meeting Eva for the first time the day Eva was born. I think it is just about the cutest thing ever. Lena is going to be the best big sister!

Everything is going really well. I am breastfeeding Eva and that is working out perfectly. I am really glad about that because I wasn't able to breastfeed Lena and I wasn't sure I would be able to this time either. But it is going really well and Eva is gaining weight like she should be.

Lena is being a very helpful big sister. She loves to hold Eva and give her kisses.

My c-section recovery is going much better than my last. I am still not able to pick Lena up, though, so it is so helpful to have Mom here to help with her. They have been having a great time playing outside almost everyday and planting flowers.

We are so thankful that Eva was born healthy and happy. We feel so blessed to be the parents of two beautiful little girls and can't wait to watch them grow up together!

Now we are just trying to settle into life with two kids and waiting for the phone call from Aunt Hilary saying that Baby Noah is on his way!
