Random January Pics

So glad January is over! It's my least favorite month of the year. Here are a few pics of the girls around the house. We didn't leave the house very much in January.

The girls on New Year's Day. Lena doing the "glazed over" face that I don't like!

Daddy built a castle using all 100 of our foam blocks (even the one the cat chewed on). We named it Barefoot Castle.

View from the top.

Pretty impressive!

But it didn't last long!

Eva is now using a sippy cup for her formula.

Lena is learning to dress herself. I like how the feet are right even though the rest is backwards!

The funny thing is that right after I took this picture, she got the zipper zipped halfway up her back all by herself.

Eva is crawling all over the house now. Here she crawled onto the standing platform of her bouncer. She was chasing Lena's sippy cup.

Got it! This is how I knew she was ready for her own sippy cup, because she was always drinking out of Lena's.

Daddy built a fort in the living room.

Lena liked to cuddle up in it.

She's crying because Eva is leaving and she wanted to have a cuddle party.

Bring on February!

Just the Girls

Jim was out of town for two and a half days this week. He went to the annual Symposia at the Fort Wayne seminary. So it was just us girls around the house. Here are a few things we did to occupy ourselves while Daddy was gone.

We had a slumber party on the living room floor, arranged by Lena.

We discovered a new hairstyle.

We tried to give Peatie the same hairstyle . . .

. . . . but it didn't quite have the same effect.

One of us had fun crawling around and chewing on things.

Another pillow party on the floor.

Along with some hair-pulling.

We encountered a blanket monster.

We tried to keep smiling even though we missed Daddy.

And we boogied to some Brooks and Dunn:

We managed just fine while Daddy was gone, but we're awfully glad to have him back!

Snow Day

Since we finally got a decent amount of snow this week, we decided today would be a good day to take the girls out for a little while to play.

Getting pulled in the sled.

It's fun!

Snow sisters.

Eva loved being in the snow for the first time.

Daddy pulling a double load.

Making a snow angel.

One of her favorite activities was throwing snow up in the air.

"I got snow on my face!"

Her other favorite activity was eating snow.

It's fun to sled laying down.

Mommy and Eva.

Mommy and girls.

Daddy and girls.

More snow eating.

Snow face.

While I am not a big fan of snow, it's fun having a child old enough to enjoy playing in it. She can't wait to go back out tomorrow.

Seven Months Old

Our sweet little Eva is seven months old today. She woke up in a very smiley mood, as per usual!, so had a little photo shoot (Lena had to be included too, of course!).

I like how their shirts are opposites: white w/pink sleeves and pink w/white sleeves.

Eva is doing great. She's babbling almost non-stop now and has started crawling. She doesn't get up on her knees yet, but does the "army crawl" thing. She gets around pretty well. I took a video of her doing at Grandpa Brian's last week. It's kind of dark, so I don't know how well you will be able to see it, but here it is.
