November Pics

Pics from November.

Lena drew her first-ever person early this month.  I think it's the cutest thing ever!  Unfortunately, as you can see, she drew it on a paper napkin instead of a real piece of paper.  I'm still going to keep it forever! (The drawing is of herself, by the way.)

 Eva getting tired of shopping at the mall and resting on Daddy.

 On the 14th, we had a banner-making party with some church members to make Advent banners.  Chris took a break from felt-cutting to watch a movie with Lena.

 Eva spent most of her time in this chair demolishing the fruit tray.

 She at almost the entire thing.

 Some of those grapes were sour!

 Jim and Gloria working on one of the banners.

 Gary and Cheryl cutting out shapes.

 Gary and Eva.

 We finished three of them that day, I think.

 Cheryl trying to decide how to cut that shape out.

 Lena had pictures taken at school.  Two different days; one in October and one in November.

 Great pic except for the muppet face.

 The photographer really liked this wall.

 Don't ask me why she is standing on a drain.

We ordered prints of this one, so if anyone would like a wallet, just let me know.

Thanksgiving 2012

Here are a few pics and videos from our Thanksgiving celebrations this year.

Lena's preschool class learned a Thanksgiving song and they sang it for the St. Paul congregation the Sunday before.  They sang really quietly, so it's really hard to hear.  See below for another video of her whole class singing which is easier to hear.  Here are the lyrics.  Lena knew those lyrics inside and out!

The leaves all red and yellow
Are falling to the ground;
And Mister Wind will come along
And blow them all around!
Blowing, blowing, blowing!
Blowing 'cross the ground!
Blowing, blowing, blowing!
Blowing all around!

The chipmunk in the treetop
Is hiding nuts away;
When Winter comes, he'll have enough
For glad Thanksgiving Day!
Hiding, hiding, hiding,
Hiding nuts away!
Hiding, hiding, hiding --
For Thanksgiving Day!

The turkeys in the barn, and
The pumpkins stowed away;
All seem to say, "We're coming for
A glad Thanksgiving Day!"
Coming, coming, coming,
That is what they say!
Coming, coming, coming,
For Thanksgiving Day!

God gives us love and sunshine,
And all the things we need;
He sent his Son, and promised all,
His little flock to feed.
Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him!
Praise Him every day!
Praise Him! Praise Him! Praise Him!
This Thanksgiving Day!

Here's the video of her whole class singing it at their party:

Not a great video because I forgot my camera and had to use my phone.  But you get the idea.

Lena's class at their party.

My little turkeys.

At home, Brian and Teresa came up to celebrate Thanksgiving Day with us.  Lena loved the appetizer dips.

Pretty Thanksgiving table.

The girls waiting patiently for dinner at their kiddie table.

Even Gobbles the Turkey had a seat.

Yummy food.

Forgot to get a pic of the turkey before we carved it up.

Grandpa Brian was waiting patiently to eat too!

Eva wishing Aunt Amy a happy Thanksgiving over the phone.

Lena's turn.

Another pic with the hats.

The next morning we had breakfast with Grandpa Brian and Teresa at IHOP before shopping at Goodwill together.

We couldn't leave Gobbles out of the picture!
