Lunch with Grandpa Brian and A Visit from Aunt Hilary

So, after having a week of beautiful, 60+ degree, sunny weather, this is what we woke up to on Saturday, March 20:

We ended up with 1.6" of snow that day. It didn't melt until late afternoon on Sunday. We knew it was coming, but that didn't make it any easier! It's hard going from having the windows open one day, to putting your heavy winter coat on the next, but I guess that's spring in the Midwest for you!

That day we drove to Marshall, Michigan and had lunch with Grandpa Brian.

Lena and Grandpa Brian being silly.

Then, this past weekend, Aunt Hilary came up for a visit. We didn't do anything exciting, but we enjoyed spending some time with her.

Belly pic. Hilary at 27+ weeks and Lesa at 29+ weeks. Somehow Lena snuck in there too.

Preggo sisters. We did have fun shopping at Motherhood Maternity while she was here.

Lena and her Aunt Hilary. Why is it that two-year-olds always make this face when you tell them to smile?

We have a busy week this week since it is Holy Week. Grandma Sheryl is coming up for the weekend and Grammy Tammy, Aunt Amy, and Uncle Frank are coming up on Sunday for Easter dinner. The weather is supposed to be warm again (80 on Thursday!), so we are looking forward to a beautiful Easter.

Springtime Fun

The weather has been absolutely beautiful lately. All of our snow is gone and we have had several days with highs in the 60s. We have taken this opportunity to spend some time outside with Lena. Earlier this week we walked down to the park that is a few blocks from our house.

Daddy helping Lena up the ladder to the slide. He kept telling her to wave at me, and I said, "No, I'd rather her keep her hands on the ladder!"

On the big slide. That one is her favorite, of course. She doesn't even bother to sit down before heading down.

So much fun.

The swings are fun too.

This is how Jim found Lena in her crib after a nap the other day.

And this is what she does when you tell her to smile. What a goof.

The Life of a Two-Year-Old

Lena really enjoyed her first week being two. Who knew there were such fun things to do when you are two? Ever wonder what a two-year-old does all day? Check out these pics to find out.

Helping Mama with the housework. She still really loves her toy vacuum.

I wish I looked that happy when I did housework!

What a cutie.

Getting so tall.

Another way a two-year-old spends her days is by eating a bag of Flaming Hot Cheetos. Let me tell you, if you've never had these before, they are hot! A student of Jim's gave him a small bag to try one day. I was only able to eat one. I came down from getting dressed that day to find Lena like this, eating one right after another. The spicyness didn't even faze her one bit!

Apparently they are the perfect Sesame Street watching snack. Her fingers were stained red for the rest of the day.

Another fun activity for a two-year-old is to find a pen and draw yourself a unibrow with it.

The weather has been nice enough the last few days that Daddy put together the neat wagon Lena got for her birthday and took her for a couple of rides along the river.

Two-year-olds ride in style!

Snacking on popcorn from the hardware store.

Wow, I wish I was two again. It sure does look like fun!
