Here are a few pics from the last couple of days.
Garden progress: July 6. Looking good!
Our tomato plants are really tall! We have a few little tomatoes, but not quite as many as I would like to see.
Lena standing next to the corn. Jim wanted to see if it was "knee-high by the Fourth of July". I don't think you're supposed to use a toddler to measure it!
Last evening Lena's buddy Rebecca came over to play while the adults had a meeting at church. She was playing peek-a-boo behind the stair door. Lena had enough of it and wanted to just climb over the gate to get to Rebecca.
Helping Lena slide. Some church members gave us this plastic slide that their grandkids are too old for. Lena will slide down it by herself if it lands in the pool.
Today we took Lena to something really fun. The local library has fun events for kids all summer long and today was "Wacky Dance Day". Jim wasn't busy (no sermon to prepare this week!) so the three of us went together.
The last dance: the Hokey Pokey. She was getting tired by this point, but still enjoyed sticking her feet in and out.
I'm so glad we were able to attend this event at the library. It was nice for Lena to get out and interact with other kids. I enrolled her in a monthly playgroup, but we missed the last two sessions because we've been out of town so much.
Tomorrow morning Lena is going to hang out with the Possetts while I get some more medical testing done. I am having an abdominal ultrasound and something called a nuclear scan. I think my GI doctor is looking for gall bladder problems in this round of tests.
Then after my tests are done we are heading to Indiana for the weekend. We'll be visiting family Thursday evening through Saturday, (including a Sister's Day party with Hilary Friday night) and then on Sunday, Jim and I will leave Lena with family and head to Chicago for our rescheduled Cardinals/Cubs game that got rained out in April. We're praying for good weather this time around!
