Although we didn't do anything big and exciting, we had a really nice 4th of July weekend. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any fireworks yet again this year. All of the ones close to us do theirs on Saturday night, and with church the next morning, that's just too late to have the girls out (the fireworks don't start until ten or later around here!) But here are a few pics of how we did spend the holiday weekend.
On Friday evening we walked downtown to the gazebo to hear the music in the park. This week it was a choir and orchestra made up of German teenagers. They are really good. Our church had a cook-out and Vespers service in German for them the Wednesday before.
On Saturday we hung out at home and spent some time in the backyard. Here Eva is enjoying the view of the clouds and trees.
We have a family-sized inflatable pool in the backyard. Lena absolutely loves to swim and will play in there for hours even if the water is freezing and her lips quiver the whole time! Fortunately, this weekend cold water wasn't an issue as we were over 90° degrees outside each day.
So even though Eva didn't actually swim (of course), I had to put her in this adorable little bathing suit I got for her and take a picture. It's just too cute!
Even though we didn't get to see any fireworks, we had a really nice weekend spending time together as a family. We hope you had a nice weekend too!
