A Hot Fall Day

Hilary and Noah came up to visit us for the weekend.  It was really nice, not only because we hadn't seen them since August, but also because tomorrow is Hilary's birthday, so it was nice to celebrate her birthday weekend with her.  Yesterday we went to a state park in our county.  We had never been there before, but it was really nice.  It's been really warm here in Michigan; technically an Indian summer.  Yesterday it was in the 80s, odd for walking through fall leaves, but nice not be all bundled up already!

Eva loved walking through the crunchy leaves.

The park is on Gun Lake.

Daddy decided it was warm enough for he and Lena to wade in the lake.

 Daddy and Eva.

 Eva wanted to wade too.

We didn't think she would like it, but she seemed to.

 Okay, I've had enough, Daddy.

 Eva found a stump.

Then she fell in the hole.

So I got her out, then she insisted on climbing back up.

 Almost there.

   Made it!

 There were swings.

Then my girls decided to pose nicely for me!

 This one's kind of funny.

 Hitchin' a ride.

 So cute.

 Back to the lake.

There is a small, but nice, beach there.  We even saw people in bathing suits in the water!

Eva hording acorns like a squirrel.

After Noah woke up a little bit, he was off and running through the woods.  He and Lena chased each other for a while.

Lena insisted Eva try it too.

We had lots of fun with Hilary and Noah.  Thanks for coming to visit us!  And Happy Birthday, Hilary!
