August Pics

Here are the other pics I took in August.

Lena's preschool class had a summer playdate at a park in Caledonia.  There were supposed to be three, but one was cancelled because it was way too hot, the other occurred while we were in Indiana (the day Kara was born), but we finally made it to the third one in August.  Here is Lena with her friends Luke and Landry.

 Eva enjoying a refreshing popsicle.

 Popsicles for everyone!

 Goofy girl.

Two goofy girls!  Don't worry; those shorts were clean.

 Soldier Eva.

 Charge!

 Taking it easy.

Pretty girl.

Enjoying the first tomato from our garden.

Yum!

Eva wearing Daddy's socks as leg warmers.  Can you tell we have a problem with laundry thieves at our house?

A Day at the Beach and an Evening at the Circus

We had a really super fun day in August.  Hilary, Noah, Kara, and Grandma came up to Michigan for the day and we did two fun things.  First we went to the beach at the state park at Gun Lake.  Then in the evening, we went to the circus!

The first thing the girls always want to do is hold Kara.

My girls aren't wearing swim suits because I didn't think it would be warm enough to get in the water that day.  I was wrong!

We had a picnic lunch at the beach.

After having a blast at the beach, we came home to regroup and clean up a little bit before the circus.  This circus is the same one we went to two years ago, The Kelly Miller Circus.

Noah did great on the pony until it started moving, then it got scary!

Lena could have ridden around on hers all day.

Getting ready for the show to start.

Yep, Lena got some sun at the beach earlier in the day.

 The clowns and the ringmaster.

It was Noah's first time at the circus.  He loved it!  Here he is watching the tigers.

He loved dancing to the music!

Kara slept through the whole thing.

 The tigers were my favorite.

It was hot, so during intermission, the kiddos shared a snow cone.  I love how Eva has her mouth open and ready for her turn.

After the show, Lena got to ride the elephant again.

Her only complaint: "Eww, it's so hairy!"

That was pretty much the most fun day ever.  Thanks so much to Hilary, Noah, Kara, and Grandma for coming up to spend the day with us!  And thanks to Grandma also for many of these pictures.
