It's A Girl!!

We had our "big" ultrasound today and found out that we have a gorgeous healthy baby girl. All of her organs were in good shape (we even got to see the different chambers of her heart), she was measuring right on schedule with my due date, and she weighs all of 11 oz. She was being very active during the ultrasound, which enabled the tech to get some great shots of her. She even got what looked like hiccups once! The doctor said she is breach right now, but that she has plenty of time before birth to get turned around.

Here are some pics. The orangey ones are the 4D ultrasound pics. They are really cool. You can really see her face in those. In the other ones, she looks a little skeleton-like, but that's because she has very transparent skin and no fat on her body yet.

Here she has her arm up in front of her face.

Here she's got her hand to her mouth. Jim says she looks like she could be praying. :)

She looks like she's checking her watch in this one!

Awesome shot of her face.

The arrow points to her "girl" parts. Her little baby butt cheeks are facing us. Too cute!

She looks like a skeleton here, but don't worry, she is more than just bones!

There are a few more pics on my Picasa page: http://picasaweb.google.com/aseleener/BabyGirlRoemke

Thanks to all of you for your prayers for a healthy baby. Things are looking great so far. My doctor actually does another ultrasound later on so we will get to see her again before birth!

And now that we know she is a girl, I don't have to change the color scheme of the blog!

  2. Pastor and Lesa,
Congratulations! I could have told you back in July you were having a girl but you wouldn't have believed me. I was never sick with Holden but sick with Graetel. So, as Pastor said Sunday look forward to having that second one, it doesn't mean you will be sick. We can't wait to meet the newest member of our flock! Blessings,
    Nicole
