We had a fun weekend celebrating Lena's birthday. Hard to believe she is three years old already!
We had a small party at our house on Saturday. The weather forecast looked iffy all week, but it cooperated just enough for our family to come up from Indiana.
Birthday cake. I am not much of a baker, so this wasn't an easy feat for me! I have to say, though, that it turned out much better than last year's cake.
Jim and I got her a shiny new tricycle for her birthday. Here's Daddy putting it together the night before her party.
Noah and Eva playing together. Right after this shot, Eva grabbed the other end of Noah's pacifier string and put it in her mouth. They are so funny together.
She also got some fun bath toys that look like dirty dishes. When you put them in warm water, the "dirt" washes off. Fun!
The other neat presents she got (that I couldn't take a picture of), is the money for two six week gymnastics lessons. She's going to have so much fun with that!
She specifically requested chocolate cake. She also specifically requested "mustard" frosting, but I thought she might like raspberry flavor better!
After everyone went home, Lena spent the rest of the evening riding her trike around the house. Check out all the stuff she got to fit on the back ledge!
When I put the plate down, she asked where the pink pancakes were. I told her those were it, and she said, "No, those are brown."
We had a great time celebrating Lena's birthday this year. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and can't wait to see what the next year of her life will bring.
Thanks so much to all of our family who drove up and back to Indiana in the snow to share Lena's special day with her. We really appreciate it!
Cute pics!! I am SO doing family parties next year, I need a break :) I was relieved Lena did not really get mustard frosting! LOL I think your cake turned out cute!
