Playing Outside (Finally!)

We all spent the afternoon outside on Sunday. It only got up into the mid-60s here, but it was really quite warm in the sun. It was pretty windy, but we didn't let that deter us from getting out in the sunshine.

Eva got to hang out in her walker, which she had never used before.

Jim borrowed a power washer and got to work cleaning up the side of the house. The north-facing sides of our house and garage always get really dirty. (Yes, he wrote "I <3 U" on the wall!)

Lena found some sand to play in. We would like to get her an actual sandbox this summer.

Eva happy to be outside.

Some pretty pink flowers.

Some pretty purple flowers.

Rhubarb.

Bleeding heart.

Our peony.

Tulip tree bud.

Eva conversing with the cute little girl in the mirror.

I was trying to get a picture of Eva, but instead caught Lena doing some kind of weird interpretive dance in the background!

Their first time playing in the play house together.

Eva checking it out.

This was the best picture I could get of her looking out the window.

Taking a rest and trying to decide what to explore next.

I let her crawl around in the grass a little bit.

Learning to use the walker on the deck. It took her a little while to figure out that she could walk in it.

Lena broke out the bouncy ball.

Mid-bounce!

Eva had fun watching Lena chase the ball around.

The deck was still really dirty because Jim hadn't gotten to it with the power washer yet, but Lena didn't let that stop her from playing with the ball. She would throw it to me and I would kick it. We spent quite a while playing that game.

I'm glad we got to spend that time outside, because the next two days we barely made it into the 50s! But I don't see anymore highs in the 50s in our 8-day forecast, so I think we're finally on our way to nicer weather.
