Eva's Birthday Party

Eva is three!  Hard to believe my baby is three years old already.  Grandma Sheryl, Aunt Hil, Noah, and Kara were visiting for the weekend, so we invited our friends, the Chrysts, over for a little party to celebrate Eva's golden birthday.

Lunch was ribs, baked beans, broccoli and cheese twice baked potatoes, pasta salad, veggies, and chips.

The weather cooperated with us and we were able to enjoy our cookout outside.

 Kara enjoyed being outside.

Such a cutie!

After lunch, Jim fired up the Slip 'n Slide.

Lena just loves this thing.  She will "slip 'n slide" over and over again, even after her teeth begin to chatter from the cold water.

Helena and Morgan had fun with it too.

 Such a goof.

My pretty three-year-old posing for the camera.  This is her fake "smile for the camera" smile. Very different from her real smile!

Noah wasn't interested in playing in the water, but he enjoyed the girls' play structure.

Kara hung out on the picnic blanket.

After playing for a while, it was time to come inside for some cake and ice cream.

Hilary noticed a finger swipe in the frosting, but no one would own up to it.  Then Grandma realized she had inadvertently caught Noah in the act.  Busted!

Eva didn't care too much for the whole singing of the birthday song part.  She is clearly uncomfortable being the center of attention.  Daddy helped her blow out her candles.

She sure enjoyed eating the cake, though!

Time for presents!

 Silly girl.

Fun new sandbox toys.  (And later, the sand to go with them!)

A pretty outfit and some cute jammies.

 A cute nightgown.  I love Eva's pose!

 What's this one?

A baby doll!

Eva was so excited by each present that she opened, that she kept dancing around with glee.  It was the cutest thing ever.

A big book of Biscuit stories.

And some Babar books from Grandma and Grandpa.  Eva loved getting new books.

 A crib for her baby!

Sweet sisters.

Eva had so much fun at her party.  Thanks so much to Mom, Hilary, Noah, Kara, and the Chrysts for visiting and making it special for her.

Here is Eva enjoying her birthday pancakes on her actual birthday.

 Yum!

And some hot chocolate to wash them down!

Next I will be posting pics from the rest of our visit with Grandma Sheryl, Aunt Hil, Noah, and Kara.
