This weekend we had our annual St. Nicholas Day Open House. This is our fourth year doing it. It's always on the Sunday closest to St. Nicholas Day, December 6.
Mom came up for the weekend to help us decorate the house and get things ready for the party. Here are a few pics from the weekend.
Lena helping put the angel on top of the tree.
She loves the Christmas Tree. "Christmas" is hard for her to say, so it usually comes out sounding like "Cabbage Tree."
We gave Eva her Christmas gift early. It's a fun bouncing thing to stand in and play with. She loved it!
I didn't take many pictures during the party because I was busy talking to people. But I couldn't resist this shot of Sandy Mitteer holding Eva while she slept.
The party was a great success. We had 27 guests throughout the day. And they all seemed to enjoy the food and each other's company. Lena had a blast. There were several other kids there and she always loves having a house full of people. That, combined with the fact that she had no nap, meant that she was exhausted last night. She didn't wake up until 8:30 this morning, which is an hour and half later than usual!
Thanks so much to Grandma Sheryl for all of her help. We look forward to doing it all again next year.
