We had VBS at Good Shepherd this week (Sunday evening through Tuesday evening). Here are a few pics of Lena joining in the fun. She had a great time hanging out with the other kids and participating in the crafts.
Sunday evening: coloring a picture. She did really well coloring with the crayons instead of eating them. But mostly she liked to take them all out of the crayon box and then put them all back in.
There is a toy kitchen set at church. Whenever we are at church, she can be seen carrying around one plastic food item (usually the muffin, but sometimes this donut) and one utensil (either the spoon or the fork). The yellow thing is a spoon. Her bottom is wet because she sat in a puddle.
Mommy picked out the color scheme of the beads on the necklace we made during craft time. Can you tell?
The VBS grand finale was popsicles eaten outside. I didn't really want Lena to have a popsicle because 1. It was just before her bedtime and I didn't want her to have the sugar and 2. She was wearing a white t-shirt and popsicles always come in dark or bright colors! But Todd offered her one anyway and she was happy to take him up on it. Notice the muffin and fork.
Of course, she bit off like 2 inches of it. He was waiting for her to spit it out, but she didn't. She loves cold things like popsicles or ice and no chunk is too large for her! She looked pretty funny trying to work it around in her mouth though.
This is from Sunday night. It stormed while we were at VBS and then after we got home we noticed this rainbow. It's kind of faint, but it went all the way across. It was one of those weird times after a storm where the sky turns orange and everything looks weird for a few minutes.
I'm sure Lena will be sad when she learns we are not going back to VBS tomorrow evening. She really loved being around all the kids and getting a break from boring old Mom and Dad at home. But she does have something to look forward to; she gets to play with her friend, Madelyn, on Thursday evening. Hopefully she will do a better job of sharing toys this time!
