Eva's 2nd Birthday

Our sweet little Eva has turned two years old!  Hard to believe.

Here are a few pictures of her birthday party and her actual birthday on Sunday.

On Friday evening, Grandpa Brian and Teresa came up and had dinner with us.

Grandpa tracing Eva's hand.

Party food!  Noshing on a pulled pork sandwich, veggie salad, and chips.

Waiting very patiently to open her presents.

 Stylin' in her new sunglasses.

 What's in this bag?

 New shoes!

She got her very own lawn chair.  No more fighting over Lena's!

Perfect!

 Opening cards.

I think this one has books.

I made cupcakes instead of a big cake this time.  Pink Lemonade Cupcakes.

I took video of Eva blowing out her candles, and I'm glad I did, because she did something really funny.

She couldn't get the second candle blown out, so she resorted to Plan B.  While she has seen the candle snuffer used many times (Daddy lets Lena use it when we do our evening devotions), she had never actually used it herself.  I was sure she was going to smash it onto the cupcake, but she used it perfectly!  That's a pastor's kid for you!

Of course, she had to eat the frosting off first.

Then she got to the rest of it.

Grandma and Lena being silly.

Grandma Sheryl and Grandpa Lee with the girls.

Aunt Hilary, Uncle Scott, and Cousin Noah were there too, but I didn't get any pics of them because Noah wasn't feeling well. :(  We found out later that he had strep throat.  Poor little guy!  Grammy Tammy and Aunt Amy couldn't make it because they were attending a wedding that day.  They came for a day the next weekend though.

Eva was worn out by the end of the party, and looked like she was going to fall asleep on Grandpa Lee.

I did a mini photo shoot of Eva outside church on Sunday morning, her birthday.

Pretty flower.

Ha ha, I had to include this one!

Eva's birthday was also the fifth anniversary of Jim's ordination.  The congregation surprised us with a little reception with cake and flowers and gifts.  One lady even made special dairy-free cupcakes just for Eva.  Here's the "before" pic.

And "after".

When we got home I made birthday pancakes for lunch.

Not sure what this pose is!  What a goof.

Happy Birthday, Eva!!

  1. I love the one where she is holding up her present with her foot so she could use both hands to dig in! That video is priceless. What a beautiful and sweet little girl my niece is! Love you Eva!

  2. great pictures! Makes it easy to re-live the day, and it was a fun one. She is such a doll (must have great parents and older sister) So glad the video camera was on, that one will give us lots of giggles for years to come.
    Love,
    Grandma Sheryl
