Here are a few pics of our Fourth of July celebration.
The Sunday before the 4th, I dressed the girls in patriotic dresses.
They're so cute together.
Eva eating her sucker from church.
July 4th morning. A very patriotic breakfast for my girls!
Flags everywhere!
Lena really wanted to see some fireworks, but the real ones are so late at night that it just doesn't work for us. So Jim got some firecrackers to set off at home. We did a few during the day so the girls could have fun watching them.
The sparks were pretty, but when you set them off during the day, most of what you see is the smoke!
Double duty.
Time for sparklers. They are so different from the ones we had as kids. They are like mini torches.
Lena wasn't too sure about them at first.
Then she got the hang of it.
Daddy showing Eva how to hold it.
They had fun with those.
Here's a short video of the girls playing with the "popper" things. I don't know their real name! I mostly associate them with New Year's Eve, but they were fun for the 4th too.
My toes were patriotic.
After the girls went to bed and it finally got dark, Jim and I went out and set off a few more firecrackers.
Yes, much better at night!
Fiery red!
So festive!
