Here is Part Two of our Indiana trip photos. As I explained earlier, I am splitting up the trip into three posts because there were so many pictures. Part One was Grammy Tammy and Aunt Amy taking the girls to the zoo. This post is all about Kara, and Part Three will be all the other pics.
The highlight of our almost two-week trip to Indiana in July was the birth our niece. Kara Renee Martin was born on Tuesday, July 17 at 10:18 am. She weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. Even though she was perfectly healthy, the doctor had her hang out in the NICU for a day to keep an eye on her breathing. But she never needed oxygen or anything else, so she didn't stay there long. Here are a few pics of her.
Noah hanging out with Grandma Bev at the hospital while waiting to meet Kara.
Here she is! See how healthy she is?
I happened to be at the hospital the next day when they (finally!) let Kara leave the NICU and brought her to Hilary's room. Eva was with me so she got to meet Kara first.
What a beauty!
Kara and Grandma Sheryl.
Eva just loved her.
Hilary was so happy to have Kara in the room with her.
Doesn't Hilary look great?
Can't get over that beautiful face.
Baby cuddles.
So tiny.
Eva seems so big after holding Kara!
Long toes!
Aww! Isn't she sweet?
Granddaughter #3.
Look at her pretty hair.
I'm a happy aunt!
Nothing more precious than having a newborn sleeping on your shoulder.
Lena came the next day and crawled in bed with Aunt Hil.
Uncle Jim meeting Kara for the first time.
She stayed awake for him.
Lena loves her new cousin.
And wanted to hold her right away.
Girls!
They are so excited about Cousin Kara.
Daddy, Mommy, and Baby.
Hilary and I took some cute pics of little Kara after she came home. Kara is a very easy-going baby and didn't mind us posing her at all.
Yawning.
Isn't she just the cutest thing ever?
She could definitely be an Anne Geddes baby.
Mommy kisses.
Big brother kisses! Noah is such a great big brother.
Kara is truly a gift from God and we thank Him for bringing her into this world safe and healthy!
