The Maranda Park Party came back to Barry County again this summer. It was a record-breaking 101 degrees that day, but I remembered how much fun Lena had last year, so I thought we should go for a little while at least.
Lena's favorite part of the day came right at the beginning. When we first walked in, we saw horse-mounted police officers.
She went right up and asked if she could pet one.
They were happy to oblige.
She had to pet the other one too, of course.
They were very nice horses.
There was a band playing live music.
There's Maranda interviewing the mayor of Hastings. He's the old guy with the oxygen tank.
Lena scored some neat stickers.
And she got a tattoo.
Unfortunately it was so hot and she was so sweaty, that it didn't even last until we got into the car!
Since it was so hot, they had sprinklers set out for the kids to run through.
Got a freebie backpack to carry everything in.
They had a bunch of animals there. Here's Eva checking out some chickens.
Furry bunnies.
Calves.
Baby goats.
Time for the bouncy house!
Then she got to make a bookmark at the library's booth.
Lena and I even went on a fun carnival-type ride. She had a blast.
Thanks for another great party, Maranda. Hopefully next year it won't be so hot!
